Captivating Kuredu Holidays

From the moment your feet step on the jetty on arrival you are destined to fall in love with Kuredu; it is a tropical paradise that is taht enchating it becomes etched on your heart and in your mind. As you wander down the sandy walkway you are met by the team playing the drums to welcome you. The island dream has just begun, prepare to relax and enjoy all that this wonderful place has to offer. In addition to all the fabulous experiences and moments you will have on this island you are sure to experience the very best in hospitality. Rooms with a view ...

Kuredu is one of the bigger Maldivian Islands with 388 rooms, but I pretty much guarantee you will not feel as though it is crowded. There is always a quiet spot and a place for reflection. With a choice of accommodation to suit you and your Maldivian dream. At one end of the island there is an adults only area; stay here in a lush water villa with a private deck and direct sea access or step out onto the sand from a jacuzzi beach villa. At the other end of the island are beautiful O Beach villas situated on the beach with wonderful decks and your own sunbathing spot. Families can stay in the beach bungalows or beach villas which are great for couples too; again with direct sandy beach access. Or choose a private pool villa, set in the middle of the island with your own privately walled garden and terrace.

Every guest on Kuredu stays on a Full Board Basis with an option to upgrade to All Inclusive. Like all resorts in the Maldives food and drink can be expensive so its worth an upgrade if you would like to enjoy a cocktail or two or more an evening.

Wine and dine ...

The food on Kuredu is delicious; prepare to enjoy food cooked by some amazing and creative chefs using fresh locally sourced ingredients. You will be allocated a restaurant based on your room choice, all with their own unique surroundings. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all buffet with some fabulous fresh cooking stations. Buffet in the Maldives in on another level to elsewhere I have travelled; expect fine food, delicious canapes and deserts to die for. Each evening boasts a theme with everything from Italian evening, to Asian Fusion to our favourite Out of the Blue where you can enjoy freshly cooked lobster and shrimp.

In addition to your allocated restaurant there are also 3 A La Carte restaurants on the island, and whilst these are not included in the all inclusive plan are very much worth experiencing. Choose from the delectable Francos for the best freshly made pasta or the perfectly cooked steak, the Beach Shack for the outstanding Lobster Thermidor or head to the Far East for a fun evening of Teppenyaki show cooking. Choose to upgrade to the Gold Level of All Inclusive and dinner is included each day in your choice of restaurant along with a huge list of other extras. We have experienced this upgrade ourselves on two visits and can advise you on this.

Enjoy the island...

Wander around the island in just over an hour, or slower if you stop at one of the many bars to enjoy an ice cold cocktail whilst watching the gentle waves roll in. Its undoubtedly the very best pub crawl you will ever go on. In the middle of the island there is a gold course and driving range, and of course it has its very own bar for the obligatory drink at the end of the game. There are also tennis and badminton courts, and close to the Team Village a football and cricket pitch. Catch the staff playing a game of an evening, you can even join in if the mood takes you. If you are a diver or have a yearning to learn the Pro Divers dive school has some of the best guides around who are super knowledgeable about all of the marine life. They also run taster snorkelling classes, alongside trips out into the beautiful Indian Ocean. There is a choice of water sports too, with pedaloes, kayaks and paddle boards. If you fancy trying it and the wind gets up you can also kite surf, which I find fabulous to watch from the beach!

At night expect a mix of very low key entertainment with a little bit of partying. After dinner listen to local bands or the resident guitarist or just enjoy time chatting in one of the bars with a nice drink. Three times a week there are themed parties which are a chance to dance the night away. Party nights happen in the main bar area but there are so many bars you can find a quiet spot should you want to. Once a week is movie night which we love, complete with popcorn.

A place for all travellers ..

Kuredu is an island that will suit most people. It welcomes families with open arms, has a great kids club and family friendly facilities such as a children themed area of the buffet and a play park. There is also a children’s splash pool and areas of the beach ae fabulous for little ones with shallow and calm waters to play in. It also makes a great couples destination, if you are wanting to experience the Maldives and enjoy a more adult holiday choose the adult only accommodation with access to all of the over 18’s only facilities at the Sangu end of the resort. Kuredu is a friendly and sociable place should you want it to be. Its great for singles and friends to visit too. Over our times here we have met people enjoying this island from all age ranges, with and without children, as couples on honeymoon or for special occasions and some wonderful singles. Things to do on your holiday to Kuredu

• Indulge yourself in a wonderful treatment at one of the 2 spas on the island; my favourite is an all over body ritual at the over sea spa. Watch the fish swimming below you and listen to the sounds of the waves as your massage transcends you into a new level of relaxation.  
• Enjoy the ultimate romantic dining experience with an exquisite dinner under the stars in a soft sand Veli on the stunning Kuredu sandbank.
• Play a round of golf on the nine hole golf course, hit some balls at the driving range or join in in the pool chipping competition ; a fun evening that is full of laughter.
• Wander down the jetty at sunset and have an evening drink as the sunsets; as the light come on see the sharks swimming in the water below.
• Snorkel the spectacular house reef and shipwreck literally feet away from the islands beach. See tropical fish, turtles, manta rays and sharks amongst the coral. Or head out at night with a guide from the dive school for a totally surreal view via head torch.
• Take a trip to dream island and feel like Robinson Crusoe; a speedboat wizzes you, a picnic and a bottle of champagne to your very own private island where you can sunbathe or take a dip in the ocean without anyone else around.
• Cruise into the evening on a sunset excursion where dolphin spotting and picture taking is the order of the day.
• See Maldivian life on a local island trip, an opportunity to support the local communities of the Maldives and buy some wonderful handcrafted souvenirs.
• Dance the night away at Kuredu’s very own White Party to some fabulous tunes from the resident DJ.
• Go sea fishing on a small boat with the team from the island and return with your catch which they will cook for your dinner.
