Charming Cuba Holidays
Cuba is known for its cigars, salsa music and for its 1950’s Classic American cars; as well as been known for its political leaders. This has shaped the country and as a result
Cuba has a history and culture like no other place you will find in the Caribbean.
Decades of strict trade embargoes has helped its capital city Havana retain its back to basics charms. You wont find chain fast food restaurants here or the trappings of other modern cities but you will find a rustic feel and a distinctly different way of life which is a breath of fresh air.
Situated just 90 miles off the coast of Miami it has a great all year round temperature. Just a couple of hours from Havana by road you will find the resort of Varadero with its bigger hotels and resorts many of which are all inclusive. With more than 12 miles of long sandy white beaches and warm crystal clear waters it’s the perfect relaxation destination. Or if you prefer partake in one of the many watersports on offer along the stretch of coast including pedaloes and banana boats.
Many visitors to Cuba will combine a few days in Havana with time in a beach resort such as Varadero, but there are other equally special places to visit on this island. Trinidad is a stunning Colonial city, with cobbled streets and colourful casa’s. Head to the picturesque Mogote Hills in the Vinales Valley a Unesco World Heritage. You will find an even slower pace of life in this area of the country. Eat at a restaurant inside a locals home or visit the local tobacco plantations which serve the cigar making industry.
