Superb Koh Samui Holidays
Koh Samui is Thailand’s second largest island after Phuket, although it is only 25km wide by 21km long. We once enjoyed a trip around it in car which we comfortably did in a day stopping at lots of beautiful spots to take Instagram worthy pictures and to eat the very best Tom Yum pizza on a secluded beach.
Koh Samui has been popular with visitors for many years and is know for its palm fringed beaches, with coconut groves and stunning rainforest. It sits in an archipelago of more than 80 islands in the beautiful Gulf of Thailand. The many beaches are lapped by warm gentle waves, inland you will find thick jungle and stunning waterfalls offering opportunities to hike or go zip lining. At night there are many opportunities for enjoying the island with great nightlife, bars and restaurants.
You will find some of the most magnificent hotels and resorts on Koh Samui providing a superb level of luxury. The vast majority are dotted around the coastline with access to private beaches. Wellness and spa retreats feature heavily, there are many resorts with private villas many boasting their own plunge pools and unrivalled views out into the ocean.
When it comes to eating you are truly spoilt for choice here. As an island that has welcomed tourists for many decades it offers huge choice of places to eat and drink. Many of the luxury hotels have restaurants serving high end gastronomy to resident and non resident guests. Away from the hotels you have the choice of rustic or very contemporary Thai restaurants all serving delicious Thai foods. You will also find a choice of foods from across the globe. We ate at an amazing Greek restaurant, an outstanding Italian and enjoyed an evening of wines, meat and cheeses at a superb wine restaurant.
With a great choice of hotels, things to do and places to eat and drink Koh Samui is a suitable destination for all types of travellers. Couples of all ages will enjoy holidaying here, and some of the hotels make an exceptional honeymoon choice or a great spot to celebrate a special occasion. Groups of friends are catered for with a lively choice of activities and a night life scene that can be laid back or as busy as you choose. Families can also enjoy much of what Koh Samui has to offer with some fabulous villa accommodation and superb safe family friendly beaches.

- Wander around the historic Fishermans Village area enjoying its lovely authentic feel. Here you will find old wooden buildings built by Chinese immigrants in the early 19th century. They sit alongside great bars, restaurants and boutiques. It also has a fabulous night market. Its my favourite place to be on an evening.
- See a ladyboy show at one of the many cabaret style show spots in Chaweng Beach. This light hearted entertainment is part of local culture. Of an evening you will find the very glamorous ladyboys parading the streets in Chaweng Beach inviting you into their shows. This is a real must do experience.
