Bangkok

Many flights into the country land into the large international airport here and so Bangkok makes a fantastic spot to spend a few days at either the beginning or end of your holiday. It is an energetic city with a huge amount of things to see and do both at day and night and a fantastic nightlife scene centred around the Khao San Road.

Chiang Mai

In the north of the country, on my visits to Thailand this stop has become my favourite. It’s a quiet and calm city and the sense of peace found here is really something special. Its not a surprise that it has become the favourite spot in Thailand for both British and America ex pats to live in. It has a huge number of beautiful temples and outstanding places to eat and drink all against a beautiful mountain backdrop.

Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngam and Koh Toa

These islands are situated in the gulf of Thailand and have been a favourite with tourists for decades. Koh Samui is the largest of the 3 islands with contrasting resorts, places of interest and some amazing and very special hotels. It also has as expected outstanding beaches. Kho Pha Ngam is a smaller island known mostly for its Full Moon Parties, but outside of this is a beautiful spot for a get away. You will find sleepy bays, dense jungle and rushing waterfalls. The tiniest island of Koh Toa is a great spot for families and those who enjoy diving. It has a much quieter and calmer feel than its neighbours, there is a lack of hustle and bustle, and a real laid back way of life.

Krabi & Phuket

In the south the Andaman Coast is dotted with dramatic limestone karst islands jutting from the ocean making it a spectacular spot to visit. The popular resorts in this area are Phuket and Krabi. Phuket the larger of the resorts could be seen as bold and brash in some parts, but equally has some very stunning luxury and boutique resorts away from the town. You will also find along this coast the stunning islands of Koh Phi Phi Lee and Koh Phi Phi Don made famous by the James Bond film and The Beach; you can choose to stay on one of these islands or take a trip for a day.
